Bansoa Sigam is a Swiss curator and researcher of Cameroonian descent, inspired and fuelled by African arts and heritage. Celebrated for her impactful contributions and with an extensive portfolio collaborating with local cultural experts, museums, galleries, and universities worldwide, she passionately promotes cultural diversity and gender equality in the artworld and cultural sector. Pursuing a double PhD in African women’s heritage, which she refers to as “sheritage”, she brings a profound understanding of the continent’s artistic traditions, cultural transfers, and women’s invisibilised presence and agency. As a curator and curatorial consultant, she plays a significant role in enriching the global discourse by offering valuable perspectives from the continent and the diaspora. She is an advocate for the uplifting and recognition of African voices, heritage, and memories. By delving into both historical and contemporary legacies through her research, writing, and showcases, Bansoa aims at contributing to the co-creation of empowered futures.
