Colombia, Argentina

francisco is a self-taught Colombian designer and visual artist. He is currently based in Argentina, where he completed his studies in visual communication design and conceptual design and works as a freelancer. Francisco works at the intersection of art and design, propelled by a search for images that converge in an imaginary shaped by the geographies of his childhood as an Afro-Indigenous descendant artist.

Like the mangrove roots from his childhood, Francisco’s work branches off into many different paths of experimentation between drawing, painting, digital, and printmaking, as he explores his ancestral background. The diversity in his work allows him to explore memories and feelings more fully, through dealing with ideas of identity, race, and homoeroticism, as well as magic, dreams, and how we construct our own future. He sees artists as healers and art as a means to self and collective healing.
