Richard was born in Spanish Town, Jamaica. He studied architecture at the University of Technology, where his interest in the arts grew ferociously, propelling him towards a career as a full-time artist. His mediums of choice are watercolours, pen and ink on canvas, and water from natural sources. Over the years, he has participated in many premier exhibitions at the National Gallery of Jamaica and is a recipient of the 2020 Prime Minister’s Youth Award for Excellence in the arts and culture category. Richard’s work has also been exhibited in international solo and group shows in Ireland and the UK, with the latest being his solo show, Between the Horizon and the Echo, with the London-based gallery Chilli Art Projects. In 2022, his work, ‘Moonlight Meditations of Mama Nanny’, was permanently installed in the Institute of Jamaica.
